TV shows rely on relationships to keep their shows going. After all, nothing creates more conflict and laughter than two people in love. Over the years, we've seen thousands of sitcom couples fall in love. Some stay together and others don't, and we usually have strong opinions about it. After all, sitcom relationships have the ability to make a show succeed for years to come or it might be the reason for its demise.
Regardless, we often flock to our TV screens to watch our favorite couples fall in love or scream at our least favorite couples and root for their eventual demise. Here are 10 of our favorite sitcom couples and 10 would we absolutely hated together.
20 The Worst: Peter And Lois From Family Guy
If you've ever watched Family Guy, you know that Peter and Lois aren't the best couple on TV. They get into fights almost every episode and these fights often turn physical with one of them physically hurting the other. They've also both cheated on each other countless times and in one episode Lois even married the dog when she thought Peter had died. These two are definitely a horrible couple.
19 Love: Jim And Pam The Office
These two are office sweethearts were destined for each other even when it didn't feel like it. They've always supported each other even when it jeopardized their own relationship and they're always making each other laugh. Thankfully, all those years of waiting paid off and Jim and Pam got to be the "it" couple of the office and a favorite in our hearts.
18 The Worst: Ted And Robin From How I Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother fans have strong feelings about this couple. They either love them or hate them and we're team hate them. How can a relationship be built on trust if Ted cheated on his girlfriend to be with Robin? What makes this relationship even worse is that Robin eventually left a happy marriage to be with Ted even though things didn't work out the first time.
17 Love: Cam And Mitchell From Modern Family
We love Cam and Mitchell because they love each other. Some might think they have a funny way of showing it -- with their constant need to one-up each other– but it shows that they have a shared interest of competition. Besides, their competitions are usually harmless and done with love.
16 The Worst: Archie And Edith From All In The Family
Maybe their relationship was okay back in the day, but by today's standards, Archie and Edith were a terrible couple. Sure, they may have loved each other but Archie was always cruel to Edith who was just trying to make him happy. Who's to say Edith didn't stay with Archie because she had no other options considering she didn't have her own money?
15 Love: Bob And Linda From Bob's Burgers
Bob and Linda are true couple goals. Not only are these two happily married but they're also each other's best friends. Bob and Linda are there for each other through the good and the bad times. Most importantly, they treat each other as equals and back each other up when it comes to conflicts at work and at home.
14 The Worst: Tom And Ann From Parks And Recreation
Tom and Ann never should have been a couple and lots of Parks and Recreation fans still wonder why the writers chose to make these two date. Part of the reason these two are the worst is because they have nothing in common. Not to mention, Tom was constantly chasing after Ann so them getting together felt like Ann had given in to his harassment.
13 Love: Jesse And Becky From Full House
There weren't that many couples in Full House and we think that's because none of them would have been able to live up to Jesse and Becky's relationship. Even though he was a player, Jesse knew it was love at first sight the minute Becky entered the house. Becky may have needed some more time but, eventually, she allowed herself to fall in love with Jesse and it was her best decision ever.
12 The Worst: Rachel And Joey From Friends
Friends fans everywhere can all agree that Rachel and Joey were the stupidest couple ever in the history of the show. Their feelings came out of nowhere and were a complete waste of time since everyone knew Ross and Rachel would end up together in the end. Rachel and Joey even had issues with their relationship because they didn't want to ruin their friendship. This is one time where we don't support the friends to lovers trope.
11 Love: Mike And Carol From The Brady Bunch
Mike and Carol could have chosen to live out the rest of their lives as single parents after losing their spouses but instead they chose to love again. And they knew exactly what they wanted out of a partner which is why their marriage worked. Not only that, but they also were amazing parents to their blended family.
