The name 'Pamela Anderson' may be synonymous with 'sex symbol' because of her modeling work for Playboy magazine and her role as C.J. Parker in Baywatch, but this gorgeous lady isn't just a blonde beauty in reality. Anderson has always been very vocal about the causes that resonate with her. Like, the need to shift away from porn culture to sensuality that is more about love expressed through physical intimacy. And she is also a vegetarian since childhood for reasons related to animal ethics.

Now Anderson has released a memoir – a tell-all – about her life. And the interesting thing is, instead of hiring a ghostwriter to do the job, she insisted on writing the entire memoir herself. In an interview on The Howard Stern Show, Anderson revealed that even though the editor was impressed with the 60-page memoir proposal she wrote, they were not sure if writing it all by herself was a good idea. “We had a deal that I could walk away, and they could walk away,” she said. But neither party walked away. And now the book is available for all to read.

Pamela Anderson's Memoir Love, Pamela Talks About Her Playboy Days

The memoir begins with her childhood – her traumatic experiences specifically – before moving to the moment when she was discovered on the Jumbotron during a Canadian football game (in 1989).

She soon became the 'blue zone girl' and the football team even used her pictures in their game night ads.

That was when she realized that she could make money from modeling. And soon landed her first Playboy cover.

Around this time, she was dating a man named Mike, with whom she had a 'very sexual relationship'.

Anderson recalls in the memoir that she was in the middle of a fight with Mike when she got a call from Marilyn Grabowski, Playboy's photo editor, to come to LA for a test shoot. The editor said, if all went well, she could be on the cover of the October issue (in 1989).

"I didn’t want to say yes to a maybe,” Anderson writes. So she hung up the call. Grabowski called her back minutes later and told her that the offer was for real.

She was invited to watch a Mike Tyson fight at the Playboy Mansion. And met Hugh Hefner that night.

“My first day at the Playboy Mansion, I was in my acid wash jeans and some rock t-shirt... and they were like, ‘You know, you can come to the Playboy Mansion closet and get dressed for the next time you come out,’” Anderson told Howard Stern during her interview about the fated day.

“I thought, ‘Well, what kind of clothes would be in the Playboy Mansion closet?’”

In the memoir, she recalls how when she met Hefner, he was surprised when she became ecstatic after seeing a Salvador Dalí painting in the mansion.

“[Hefner] could tell I was different.”

The Day Of The Playboy Cover Shoot Was Shocking For Her

She walked into the studio and saw photographs of all the previous cover models on the wall and immediately felt like she didn't belong there.

She felt like she was 'Alice in Wonderland and had gone through a portal into another universe'.

But it was on that day that she started seeing the Playboy people as 'her family'. Mainly because they wanted to help her get away from Mike with whom things were getting dangerous.

But Anderson held onto her small-town roots and refused to engage in anything shady or suspicious.

She wrote that one time during a tour in a different city someone offered her $10,000 to get into a hot tub with him. She told Hefner about the incident and other similar things.

This earned her the name 'tattletale' among the other Playmates who liked such deals and frequently engaged in them for extra income.

During her interview on The Howard Stern Show, Anderson spoke more about her life as a Playmate, saying she refused to move into the Playboy mansion and wouldn't immediately accept invitations to the mansion parties.

In this regard, she was definitely the odd one out. Many others had no such qualms about the Playboy Mansion.

Anderson also revealed how the Playboy Mansion was “cleverly designed” for “a little extra fun.”

Anderson Was On The Playboy Cover A Record 13 Times

After her first Playboy cover, Anderson got a lot of calls from casting directors for TV shows and movies. And while she was not interested in taking up most of the offers, she eventually agreed to do a cameo on Married... with Children.

And then she got a role on Home Improvement, where she had a weird experience with Tim Allen who was also in the sitcom.

Apparently, he flashed her and said that 'it was only fair since he had seen her naked too.'

Anderson writes that it was one of the many moments when people thought 'they knew her enough to make absolute fools out of themselves.' Allen, however, denied the allegation.
